olive oil

The Olive –  the emblem of peace and mentioned many times thru the Old Testament: the branch carried by the dove to Noah, and many others references. The Greeks honoured the oil as sacred burning lamps of it in temples. The Olive tree was used to mark boundaries of estates. In Italy a branch ia still hung over doorways of a new house.

It is a native to the Mediterranean with France Italy and Spain being the moan producers. Cold pressed virgin oil (first pressing) is the supreme oil, and should always be kept from sunlight and not heated too much (to the temperature of boiling water only).
