10 DAY MUNG SOUP CLEANSE

DAY 1: MUNG SOUP

AM: lime juice and large glass of warm water on rising

hot water with 1 tsp ghee

fasting drink during day (make a thermos in morning)

 

DIET: Mighty Mung Soup  2-3 times a day or as needed to feel comfortable (eat only when hungry and previous meal has digested). Allow at least three hours or more before sleeping.

 

PM: Before bed- Triphala 1-3 caps with warm water

Ghee on temples and soles of feet before sleep

 

 

DAY 2: MUNG SOUP

 

AM: lime juice and large glass of warm water on rising

hot water with 1-2 tsp ghee

DIET: Mighty Mung Soup  2-3 times a day or as needed to feel comfortable (eat only when hungry and previous meal has digested). Allow at least three hours or more before sleeping.

DAY 3: MUNG SOUP

DAY 4: TOTAL FAST

AM: lime juice and large glass of warm water on rising

hot water with 4-8 tsp ghee ( up to 8, as feels ‘reasonably’ comfortable)

fasting drink during day (make a thermos in morning)

 

 

DIET:  T O T A L  F A S T (or very light thin Mung Soup, no ghee, if uncomfortable)

 

PM: Before bed- Triphala 4-8 caps with warm water (to purge toxins)

This may or should give loose bowel motions.

DAY 5: HALF DAY TOTAL FAST

HALF DAY TOTAL FAST

DIET-LUNCH: Thin Mighty Mung Soup with spices but without extra Ghee for lunch and evening (chew the soup ie eat slowly!)

DAY 8: RESTORATIVE DIET DAY 3

DAY 9: RESTORATIVE DIET DAY 4

Diet:  Mighty Mung Soup,  with Basmati Rice and Ghee. 2-3 times a day or as needed to feel comfortable (eat only when hungry and previous meal has digested). Allow at least three hours or more before sleeping.

DAY 10: RESTORATIVE DIET DAY 5

 

AM: Lime juice and large glass of warm water on rising

Hot water with 1 tsp ghee

Take Fasting Drink during day (make a thermos in morning)

Siddha paste on navel (optional)

 

Diet:  Mighty Mung Soup, with  steamed or roasted vegetables and Basmaiti Rice.  2-3 times a day or as needed to feel comfortable (eat only when hungry and previous meal has digested). Allow at least three hours or more before sleeping.

 

PM: Before bed- Triphala 1-2 caps with warm water

Ghee on temples and soles of feet

 

NB: Eat only when hungry!

 

 

 

For up to 10 days following Day 10 follow a panchakarma diet! No wheat, sugar, dairy products, and only small amounts of tomatoes, potatoes, sour or fermented foods. Avoid red meat, a little steamed fish is ok. Try to eat foods like just dal, rice and vegetables well spiced with ghee. Have Whole Mung soup at least once a day.

FASTING TEA

4 cups water

2 tsp. cumin seeds

2 tsp. coriander seeds

1 tsp. fennel seeds

4 cardamom pods

1 pinch asafoetida

4 basil (tulsi) leaves, if available. Or ½ tsp Tulsi tea

1 pinch black pepper

½ tsp. fresh ginger slices

 

Mix everything together in a pan and bring to the boil. Simmer gently for about 5 minutes, remove from the heat and keep it covered for a further 20 minutes. Filter and keep warm in a flask to drink regularly throughout the day.
