Cardamom (elettaria cardomomum) – Called the ‘Queen of Spices’  and a native the western ghats of India and Sri Lanka. It is one of the best and safest digestives. It stimulates the mind and heart to experience joy and clarity (sattva). I always use it in Sacred Chai. Its whole pods are a delightful lime green when fresh. It is used  a powder and whole (when the pod are bruised a little before use)

It opens the eyes (to the truth), reduces mucus in milk, reduces the negative effects of coffee (caffeine), freshens the breath.
