cumin seeds

Cumin (cuminum cyminum) – one of the earliest spices cultivated by man. Native to the Middle East it has been known since ancient times ie in the tomb of Pharohs, mentioned in the Old and New Testaments the digester, stimulator of appetite, reduces ama (undigested food), increases absorption of nutrients.

Useful for diarrhea, IBS, to increase breast milk flow, gripe water for infants.

In Europe beware that cumin and caraway seeds are not confused. They look very simliar and often go under the same name. Sometimes ‘our’ cumin goes under the name ‘roman cumin’.
